Dollar General Corporation operates a chain of discount retail stores located primarily in the southern, southwestern, midwestern, and eastern United States. At a time when many retailers have been closing stores, Dollar General (NYSE: DG) has been adding them at a furious pace. At stake is the fate of thousands of supermarket workers, many of whom belong to labor unions and are owed pensions when they retire.
